I think the idea is very cool. Having little minigames to charm the characters that will help you, I havent seen anything like that so far. Of course the minigames are a little repetative after some time, but in that short time, well done.
I was getting blocked quite a bit by the people, when they started following me after the mini game. An idea would be to have them only collide once the position is chosen with E.

in level 8 one block is misplaced, so u cant reach the knight and cant kill the enemy,
but if you move left, while you press q to enter the mini game, you keep moving away, so you can still win the minigame and clear the level
